Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief to communities throughout the United States. The groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per box. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items. The average retail value of the items is approximately $60.

Below are questions related to our participation in the Angel Food program. If you do not find the answer to your specific question in this list, please contact the church office at 615.868.9370.

Who is this program designed to help?

Everyone!!! This ministry is beneficial to all income levels in the form of grocery relief. No one has to qualify to order food.

Do I have to be a member of First Baptist Madison to participate?

Absolutely not! This grocery relief is available to anyone, regardless of religion, race, gender, economic status, etc.

Where does my money go?

The money you pay for your menu box and any specials goes toward purchasing the food, transportation, printing costs, etc. FBCM does not make a profit or retain any funds from your order.

Do I have to commit to anything to participate?

If you choose to order a particular month, you are not obligated to order in the future. The only thing required is to pick up your food during the designated distribution time.

How can I utilize this program to help others?

There are a couple of ways.  You can purchase a menu box for someone who could use assistance and take it to them.  By participating yourself, you reduce your current grocery budget and in turn increase your disposable income, which allows you to reallocate your money fund a better cause.

If I purchase for myself, is it taking food away from someone else?

Absolutely not!  In fact, Angel Food does not make their initial purchase until they have received all orders each month from participating organizations. Therefore, the more people that order, the larger quantity/bulk they purchase, and the more discount they can potentially receive.

If I purchase food as a benefit to someone else, is it tax deductible?

Individuals purchasing for someone else can declare it as a tax-deductible donation. You will need to maintain this information for your tax records. Consult a tax advisor for further details.

How often can I order?

Monthly.

Is there a limit to how much I can buy?

There is no limit to the number of menu boxes or specials an individual can order.  However, you must order one $30 regular menu box to be eligible to order any of the monthly specials.

Where do I pick up my food?

Orders will be distributed from the FBCM Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 719 Gallatin Rd S, across the street from Shoney's in Madison Square.  The Fellowship Hall is loacted on the Madison Blvd side of the building.

Is the menu the same each month?

No, the menu varies due to the availability of bulk items from month to month.  Also, Angel Food reserves the right to substitute any menu items due to availability, cost, and quality.

Can First Baptist store my items if I cannot make it to distribution day?

Unfortunately, no. Most of these items are perishable and we do not have the means to store anyones order. ***Any food not picked up during the designated distribution time will be donated.***

Are taxes applicable?

Taxes are included in the purchase price of the box.

Can I share this opportunity with others?

YES, Please do!  Word of mouth is the best way to promote a program like this.  Anyone is welcome to participate.

Madison is too far away. Are there churches in my area that I can order from?
